artisanfirst | DREAMYWALLS · Soft Furnishings

Designed in our studio. Finished by hand.

We're a design house first. Every cushion, table linen and bedcover starts as a drawing in our Noida studio. Then it goes to the hands that know one craft better than anyone: block printers, zardozi karigars, kantha stitchers, quilters.

MEHTAB cushion — hand zari on blue, Mughal Garden

Pieces to marvel at, up close.

Step back and it's a cushion. Step in and you'll find gold thread coiled by hand, French knots no bigger than a grain of rice, and block prints where every impression sits a little differently. That fine work is the point of every piece we make.

Zardozi detail on CREST, Velvet Luxe

Zardozi

Metal thread, beads and sequins, laid and couched by hand on a wooden adda frame. A single crest can take a full day.

Hand embroidery and French knots on BUTA, Botanical Bloom

French knots

Thread wrapped around the needle and pulled through, one knot at a time, until a flower rises off the fabric.

Hand block print on AMBAR, Jaipur House

Hand block print

A carved wooden block, dipped in colour and pressed by hand, repeat after repeat, lined up by eye.

The house of hand techniques

Thirteen crafts. One design eye.

We don't stick to one craft. We pick the technique that suits the design, and work with the artisans who do it best.

How a piece comes together

01

Designed

Our studio draws every pattern and picks every colourway. Nothing is bought off a catalogue.

02

Crafted by hand

Printers, embroiderers and quilters take it on. Some pieces pass through five pairs of hands over five days.

03

Finished

Cut, piped, zipped and stitched in our Noida unit.

04

Checked

Every piece is checked by hand before it's wrapped in a cotton envelope and sent to you.
