Design Story
Shila 02 is the same technique as its sibling, Shila 01, but in restraint. Black and white nacre tiles are arranged in a pattern that references Indian geometric floor work: precise, repeated, yet entirely handmade. The monochrome palette gives it a modernity that the colored version doesn't have. It is a frame that looks ancient and contemporary at the same time — a quality only handcraft can produce.
